The wind calls the sea
You can see them talking, hear their words in gentle song, you can see when they are angry and when they are silently getting along. Like an ancient married couple they know each other so well, their conversation is filled with small details and long gaps, with lovers tiffs and reunited sleepy words.
The wind calls the sea and she answers. She roars, she laughs, she dances. Oh how they adore each other.
This Acrylic on Linen is a recent work, derived from memories of the coastline and the movement of the waves and inspired by an imagined relationship of wind and sea. It is somewhat quite unique compared to other pieces of my work as I realised the original canvas it was painted on was slightly wonky, so I took the picture off that canvas and onto another, in the process making it slightly smaller. Through this the canvas edges have the original picture on them, making it rather unique in itself.
